Personal Alignment: Balancing and Enjoying Life with Work

This workshop introduces the concept of self-identity and the many roles we hold as professionals, while also maintaining and nurturing our personal roles. Based on research, this session explores how professionals can successfully build boundaries and self-care routines that promote productivity for themselves and others.

Dr. Robyne Hanley-Dafoe will explore the benefits and challenges of holding professional roles such as leadership, while sharing practical and sustainable best practices for striking this ever-elusive balance of workplace wellness.

Robyne uses her Top 10 Tips for ‘Life with Work Balance’ to facilitate active discussions. Here, participants will learn how to ‘transform common knowledge into common practice’. We will explore why we routinely engage in habits that don’t align with our goals and why we struggle to change or maintain our behaviour. The aim is to promote healthy habits and deep joy in your work through fostering a steadfast sense of personal alignment and purpose with your work.

Biography

Dr. Robyne Hanley-Dafoe is an educator, speaker, author, and consultant. As a multi-award-winning psychology and education instructor, with over 13 years of teaching and research experience at Trent University, Robyne’s uses narrative pedagogy to engage and inspire. Described as transformational, Robyne’s work connects researched informed practices with everyday applications that are realistic, universal and sustainable.
