AQT’s Business Succession Fund

In support of Quebec’s future technology leaders

I WANT TO CONTRIBUTE

Help startups surround themselves with the right people to increase their chances of success!

Despite all the innovative ideas and products in the world, 50% of new businesses close up shop before their fifth year of operation. Starting a business takes courage, bravery, and support. Surrounding yourself with the right people, receiving valuable advice and being able to count on a strong network of peers are all factors that can help a startup succeed.

The AQT is launching its Business Succession Fund, a fund for the next generation, to support the efforts of Quebec’s technology startups and build on the values of generosity and mutual aid that define its member community. The Fund strives to increase tech startups’ chances of success by fostering business opportunities and promoting mutual aid and personalized support.

We can all do our part
How will you do yours?

There are several ways to get involved, by:

  • Making a monetary contribution
  • Presenting at group sessions
  • Providing one-on-one coaching on a specific subject
  • Referencing for startups
I WANT TO CONTRIBUTE

An advisory committee will manage the Fund as well as determine the number of grants and the terms and conditions for 2023.

How your contribution will be used?

Funded by voluntary financial or human capital contributions, the Fonds de la relève will provide startups with support that may include (depending on the terms and conditions):

  • AQT corporate memberships
  • Free or discounted entry to our signature events
  • Registration to AQT’s focus groups.
  • One-on-one coaching with experienced members in management, human capital, marketing and finance
  • Group meetings and activities for startups

Special thanks to the following companies for their support

« I’ve met so many great people through my involvement with the AQT. It’s truly a pleasure for me to now be able to give back and provide an opportunity for startups to benefit from an mdf commerce grant. In return, I sincerely hope that these new businesses will help our industry continue to grow and thrive! »

Luc Filiatreault, CEO of mdf commerce, who provided 10 startup grants in 2021.

Testimonials from recipients

We had just entered the market when we received a startup grant from the AQT. We were offered a program that included substantial discounts for both the Vision PDG and Big Bang events. On top of that, we were able to meet key industry contacts who gave valuable advice.

Since we joined the AQT, our company has grown from 10 to 75 employees. The Young Enterprise grant offered by the AQT allowed us to invest in the development of our business network and especially to access leaders with many years of experience. At the time of this scholarship in 2018, our company had to make very informed choices and the scholarship program made many services available that we would surely have deprived ourselves of.
