Drawing on ongoing consultations with executives from AQT member technology companies, the brief puts forward several recommendations aimed at modernizing public procurement practices to better support innovation, increase value for government, and strengthen the participation of Québec technology companies in government projects.
AQT’s recommendations focus in particular on:
- Greater recognition of quality, expertise, and value in procurement processes;
- Requests for proposals that are more focused on business needs and desired outcomes;
- Improved use of procurement mechanisms that foster innovation;
- Greater transparency and predictability in procurement processes;
- An approach to buying local that promotes Québec expertise while meeting government needs.
Our CEO, Nicole Martel, also had the opportunity to speak with Pierre Saint-Arnaud of The Canadian Press about the key findings and recommendations outlined in the brief: Link to the article.
