A pioneer in the application of machine learning to automatic language processing, Narjès Boufaden began her career as an academic. She obtained her doctorate in computational linguistics in 2005 at the University of Montreal under the supervision of Guy Lapalme, Ph. D., and of deep learning guru Yoshua Bengio, Ph. D. She then worked for a few years in different research centers and universities as a researcher. When she realized that automatic language processing for conversation texts had promising concrete applications, she founded Keatext in 2010, becoming one of the first entrepreneurs to provide artificial intelligence solutions to maximize business performance. In 2015, she successfully transformed her professional service provider company into a product provider with a disruptive platform, thereby attracting brands like American Express, NASA, Orange and Lenovo among others.
