The public market for Canadian technology companies of all kinds has never been stronger than it is today. Many of our companies seek access to capital through public rather than private markets. Classic access is an initial public offering (IPO), but nowadays, special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs) – commonly known as “SPAC” – are gaining in popularity, attracting customers. ‘major underwriters and investors and raising record amounts of public funds with dizzying valuations.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of public financing compared to private financing, of a traditional IPO compared to a SPAC? What is the right time? Advantages and disadvantages of the different options.
