Written by AQT | Nov 3, 2026, 5:14:53 PM

Longueuil, Quebec, November 3, 2026 – To represent your voice effectively and defend your companies’ interests, here is a summary of the six issues we are actively pursuing with the governments of Quebec and Canada.

In brief

  • Quebec: dialogue with newly elected officials, public procurement and the CDAE-IA criteria grid.
  • Ottawa: support measures in response to the tariff war, opportunities in the defence sector and the federal budget lock-up on November 5.
  • Coming up: Investissement Québec training in early December and a defence information session in January.

QUEBEC

Newly Elected Officials: A Dialogue from Day One

Following the election tour, during which we made your priorities heard, we are continuing our efforts by opening a dialogue with newly elected officials responsible for economic and innovation files, so they understand the role our sector plays as a pillar of growth for Quebec.

Public Procurement: Opening the Door to Your Companies

Since the launch of the Stratégie gouvernementale des marchés publics 2026-2030 (Government Public Procurement Strategy) last June, AQT has been seeking concrete results and is actively pursuing its efforts with the Secrétariat du Conseil du trésor (Treasury Board Secretariat) to promote the benefits of increasing your companies’ participation in public procurement.

CDAE-IA: More Predictable Criteria

AQT is working closely with Investissement Québec to make the criteria grid more predictable and simplify the preparation of your applications. Note that Investissement Québec will offer a training session in early December.

OTTAWA

Tariff War: Exploring Available Support

AQT met with the office of the Minister of Industry to better understand the support measures available to our CEOs in response to the tariff war.

Defence: Positioning Our Companies

AQT is in discussions with Defence representatives to help you assess opportunities and position your company in projects related to this sector. An information session on this topic is planned for January.

Federal Budget 2026: The Essentials as Soon as It’s Released

On November 5, AQT will attend the budget lock-up in Ottawa so it can quickly share the news that affects your companies.
