A first meeting at Datahex in Laval kicks off a series of non-partisan discussions that will take place throughout the election campaign.
Longueuil, Quebec, August 31, 2026 – AQT is launching its 2026 Election Tour, a series of non-partisan meetings between candidates from different political parties and AQT member CEOs. The initiative aims to create a direct dialogue around the realities, ambitions and challenges facing Quebec technology companies, while highlighting their contribution to Quebec’s productivity, competitiveness and prosperity.
The tour kicked off in Laval with a first meeting at Datahex, an AQT member company, with Caroline de Guire, Quebec Liberal Party candidate in Laval-des-Rapides. The discussion provided an opportunity to explore the concrete contribution of Quebec technologies to the agri-food sector, as well as the realities facing the companies that develop and commercialize them.
From the integration of artificial intelligence to the development of cutting-edge technologies, technology companies contribute every day to making Quebec organizations more productive and competitive. With more than 176,000 jobs in Quebec, the sector is an economic pillar with considerable growth potential.
At a time when companies are navigating an uncertain global economic environment, it is essential to create the conditions that will foster investment, innovation and the commercialization of solutions developed here. These meetings will give candidates an opportunity to hear directly from CEOs who experience these realities every day and to better understand the issues influencing the growth of Quebec technology companies.
The concerns raised during these discussions will also help inform AQT’s advocacy efforts with public decision-makers.
